Romeo and Juliet is the first ballet the world-famous choreographer Youri Vamos created for Ballett Deutsche Oper am Rhein (1997). He set the Italian Renaissance story of ill-fated love in the 1920s, the decade in which Sergei Prokofiev was composing the work. The joie de vivre and humanity of his characters, wit, tempo and excitement permeate the entire ballet together with extremely impressive and moving love scenes.

Running time: 2 hours and 20 minutes
